When The "Going" Gets Tough

When it comes to house training your pup, patience and consistency are key.

Make sure you set aside plenty of time to train your cute little puppy! Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Establish a Routine: Dogs learn best when they have a schedule. Feeding times, potty breaks and playtime should be done at the same time every day.
  2. Choose a Potty Spot: Consistency is important for successful house training, so pick one spot that will always be used as the designated potty area. Whenever possible, take your pup there on leash so they can associate the area with where they should go for potty time.
  3. Reward Good Behavior: Praise and reward your pup when they successfully go in the appropriate spot. That way, they'll understand that "going" outside is something positive for them.
  4. Clean Accidents Immediately: If you catch your pup in the act of having an accident inside, make a loud noise to interrupt them and then immediately take them outside to their designated potty area. Afterwards, be sure to clean the accident up with an enzyme-based cleaner so they don't think it's ok to pee there again.

Good luck! House training can be a challenge but with patience and dedication, you'll have a house trained pup in no time! Have fun with it, your pup will love all the attention!
